Chartered in 1950, San Jacinto Chapter is the oldest active chapter in Houston.  One of the main focuses of San Jacinto Chapter is fundraising for education.  We have raised over $100,000 for local scholarships and chapter education and have contributed over $15,000 to the national scholarship fund SBMEF.

SCHOLARSHIPS

ABWA's national scholarship trust, the Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund (SBMEF), has contributed more than $12.5 million to women's professional success through education.  Through an innovative chapter/network sponsored program, members may apply for SBMEF grants and loans for business-skills training to keep pace with changing workplace demands.

San Jacinto also sponsors scholarship recipients each year.  We also use some of our money for member education, such as sending all the members that want to attend to the Houston Area Council's annual Educational Event.
